Oy Vey

Will Kerry get a speech?
President Bush charged Monday that Senator John Kerry's policies were "dangerous for world peace" as his campaign suddenly changed plans for an event on medical liability on Wednesday and scheduled a speech by Mr. Bush on terrorism and the economy instead.

On the eve of the vice-presidential debate, with polls showing that Mr. Bush lost ground after his debate with Mr. Kerry on Thursday, the pressures on the White House to regain the upper hand appeared to be mounting.
So the President, for no reason, is just going to have a random speech on terrorism and the economy the night before the debate, and the networks will cover it?

I think his policies on both these issues deserve a speech, focusing on why they are so bad. Somehow I don't think that'll be the focus.

And how about equal time? This is campaign season, is it not? I know I had to offer equal time to any person running for office if they even mentioned the election. The fact that Bush won't mention his "opponent" means nothing since the issues being covered are the issues of the next night's debate!
