I'm that bored.
Okay, Bush is #1 to the Texans, but the Saints have to trade out. Question is, who really wants the #2 pick? If you're the Saints you really want AJ Hawk. You need a character like that on your team, and they have worst LBs around. If they can move out and get two picks, then they take a different LB later. They've got Will Smith and Charles Grant at DE, and John Sullivan was a recent draft at DT. Yes, Mario Williams may be the best player in the draft, but Hawk fills a need, and brings tons to the table. Thing is, I don't think they'll be able to get out of #2, unless someone really wants Williams.
Saints O-Line blows right now, but D'Brickashaw is not worth it at #2. You'd rather trade down, and get an OL in the second round if you're the Saints. As for the Brick, any OT who needs to "prove himself" at the combine is not one you want to select that high. OTs need to clearly dominate to go that high, like an Ogden, Pace, or Gallery (who isn't doing so great). His size, or lack there of, makes him slide.
The Saints need Hawk in a big way. Even if they needed a QB, I would think Haslett knows his time is now; not the future. Hawk provides an instant spark.
As for the QBs, I think they're all overrated. Brodie Croyle of Alabama has the chance to be the best of the 3 ahead of him, no doubt. Great arm, very tough, albeit skinny as a rail, and a good arm. I like his moxey.
On the Jets, I think they go a different direction than everyone thinks, and they take TE Vernon Davis from Maryland. The guy is a beast. You look at Gates and Gonzo, and you want that. He helps blocking too. They have needs, but Ramsey NEEDS a guy like this. Plus, if you think Mangini has learned from Belicheck, then all you need to do is check out there picks over the last few years. Defensive Tackles and Tight Ends. The Jets are not taking a Defensive Tackle. If Williams is there, and the Jets may trade up to #2 to get him, he's there. But if not, I like Vernon Davis for the offense. Patriots took Daniel Graham and Ben Watson in 2002 and 2004 respectively; both in the first round. Granted, TEs in top 5 are rare, but he fits perfectly. This is why I sense they will make a trade.
Okay, okay, I'm getting excited now. Caught up in my speak. Jets select AJ Hawk :)
The Giants, not sure what falls to them. They need a fast WR, but there's not one worth it. They try to take quality people. If Cromartie, Whitner, or Carpenter remain, I think they get one of them. If it's Defensive Tackle, I like Claude Wroten from LSU. Guy's an animal.
Finally, a note on Texas players. They won the Nat'l Title, but aside from the possibility of Davin Joseph (Guard-Oklahoma) being drafted in the first round, there's not another player from the Big 12 projected in the first round, and hardly any in the second as well. In other words, the Big 12 was weak. I do like Rodrique Wright, but do not care for Michael Huff. OSU's Donte Whitner is clearly the better player, and that will be borne out.
Barring no trades...
1. Reggie Bush - Houston Texans
2. Mario Williams - Katrina Saints (I guess. All that being said...)
3. Matt Leinart - Tennessee Titans
4. D'Brickashaw Ferguson - Jets (safest pick. NY Legend)
5. AJ Hawk - Green Bay
6. Vernon Davis - San Francisco 39ers
7. Vince Young - Green Bay Packers
8. Haloti Ngata - Buffalo Bills
9. Michael Huff - Detroit Lions
10. Jay Cutler - Arizona Cardinals
11. Brodrick Bunkley- St. Louis Rams
12. Kamerion Wimbley - Cleveland Browns
13. Winston Justice - Baltimore Ravens
14. Santonio Holmes - Philadelphia Eagles
15. Chad Jackson - Denver Broncos
16. Donte Whitner - Miami Dolphins
17. Ernie Sims - Minnesota Vikings
18. Antonio Cromartie - Dallas Cowboys
19. Ashton Youboty - San Diego
20. Jimmy Williams - Kansas City
21. DeAngelo Williams - New England
22. Chad Greenway - San Francisco
23. Nick Mangold - Tampa Bay
24. Mercedes Lewis - Cincinnati Bengals
25. Bobby Carpenter - New York Giants

28. Tamba Hali - Jacksonville Jaguars

I Wonder
Now that Tony Snow is press secretary, does he even have to quit his job at Fox News? What's the difference?
Here are some of the great stories from the world of Tony Snow.
The funny thing is these stories were the resume boosters that got him the job!!!

The American Taliban
You want to know who they are? They're the 30% of this country that STILL SUPPORTS THE PRESIDENT!
Incredibly so, 40% of these people think he's trustworthy!
President Bush's approval ratings have sunk to a personal low, with only a third of Americans saying they approve of the way he is handling his job, a national poll released Monday said.Want to know the President's apporval rating? Just check the price of gas. It's about $3.10 or 31.0%.
In the telephone poll of 1,012 adult Americans carried out Friday through Sunday by Opinion Research Corporation for CNN, 32 percent of respondents said they approve of Bush's performance, 60 percent said they disapprove and 8 percent said they do not know.
Incredibly so, 40% of these people think he's trustworthy!

The Irony
or, the bullshit:
McCarthy is leaking information based on illegal programs the President has apparently authorized.
She has no recourse as the President and his administration conduct illegal policies that jeopardize the safety and respect of the United States. The President claims privilege. Seems fair, no?
If this was a Republican doing thisa, and the result was positive news for the White House, the President would find a way to honor this person with a medal, or speech. Rest assured.
It's not legal to leak classified CIA information. But is it legal to goto the UN and lie about lies in order to start a war? IS THAT LEGAL?!?!
Rep. Peter Hoekstra (R-Mich.), chairman of the House intelligence panel, took issue with Harman on the question of a double standard. Appearing on the same Fox program, Hoekstra said the president has the legal authority to decide "what is classified and what is not," whereas "this person in the CIA thought that they were above the law." As a result, he added, McCarthy put the country at greater risk through her alleged disclosures. The President claims he has the right to declassify things only after he has been caught doing it, and after having recognized how bad things look.
