The House Ethics committee is going to investigate the Foley/Hastert situation. That should make us all feel great.
Republicans are in the majority. You will pay a price if you come down hard on your own. If you think an internal investigation is the way to go you are crazy, and wrong. The fact that there will be 1, 2, or 3 investigations, is even more ridiculous because then the news starts to get jumbled, and politicians start to prefer one investigation over another.
ONE INDEPENDENT INVESTIGATION. END OF STORY.

Amazing
How come I don't hear this from Democrats:
Republicans are playing politics with the lives of children?
I mean, if this situation with former Congressman Foley were reversed, you'd be hearing that!
Republican Speaker of the House, Dennis Hastert, and other conservatives are claiming that Democrats and people like "George Soros" made this happen. Too bad ABC News got the tip off from a former Republican Aide!
CNN just had a guest on who said, "If the Democrats planned this "October Surprise" they are going to pay for this..." Seriously? As much as the Republicans hate to admit it, ABC News is not synonymous with Democrats. And to think that their sheep don't trust the news, yet they trust the scum that tells them not to watch it. Great stuff.
It's as plain as day that Republicans do not care about ethics or morals on any level. You can be sure some Republicans in Congress knew about Foley. You can be sure they knew about Duke Cunningham. You can be sure they knew about Tom Delay and Jack Abramoff. You can be sure of all of this. But they do nothing. For them, it's personal responsiblity! In their minds they are not personally responsible for any of these things, so they let them slide. It's more important that they protect themselves then it is to protect children, or the truth.
Contrast with President Clinton for a second. When he had sex with Monica Lewinsky it was the biggest scandal ever! ALL DEMOCRATS WERE IMMORAL! Yet, no Democrat could have known about this except for Clinton. Yet they were all branded. Now we're on the other side, where these congressional scandals are known by so many, and yet no one said a word. When they do get caught, it's the MEDIA'S FAULT, and of course...the Democrats.
FUCK.........YOU ALREADY!!!!

Jews I Wish Weren't
Being Jewish (sorta), I figured it was okay to publish the list, especially on this holiest of holidays (which I think is illegal to do...but anyway).
First off, I hate Jews who support Bush. Can't really put it any other way.
10. Ed Koch - Just a douche. Heard him speak? Heard him defend Bush? Douche.
9. Joseph Lieberman - Where should I begin?
8. William Kristol - Not for being a horrible prognosticator, but for hating the liberal elite, while being the biggest elitist Jew I've ever witnessed. Btw, such a poor prognosticator that he was Quayle's Chief of Staff.
7. George Allen - JUST MADE THE LIST! Didn't even know he had Jew in him. Man I wish he wasn't Jewish.
6. Norman Laskin - Father of my friend Steve. Father was a Rabbi. Moved to Virgnia. Become born again Christian. Has pictures on his wall of Reagan. Being that he converted I guess he longer is. May have to make a new list for this guy.
5. Air America - Al Franken, Sam Seder, and Randy Rhodes. The first two for being horrible radio hosts, and Rhodes for pretending that they're actually good.
4. Arlen Specter - What's to like? Mostly for attacking Anita Hill, and supporting every conservative movement in sheeps clothing.
3. Michael Savage - Tune into his radio show on 710 WOR and you'll know why in a flash.
2. Henry Kissinger - Because fucking up Vietnam wasn't enough.
1. Paul Wolfowitz - Chief planner of Iraq War. Need I say more?
Honorables:
- Jay Sekulow - Pat Robertson's attorney
- Ari Fleischer - For being such a top notch liar for Bush.
- Jack Abramoff - you know the story

The Beginning...
...of Vince Young sucking in the NFL.
Before we even discuss Vince Young blowing for the Tennessee Titans, lets discuss the off-season move of getting rid of Steve McNair, the perfect mentor, and how dumb that was.
Basically, the Titans decided they were going to rebuild. Now they can pretend they were going to be competitive with Billy Volek at the helm, but in truth, that was never going to workout. Now they have the perfect rebuilind tool: Kerry Collins. A QB who can teach Vince Young NOTHING. McNair, on the other hand, would have been a perfect teacher for Young, since he was somewhat of a running QB, and had to adjust bigtime when he reached the NFL. That he did. The team went from a similar mentor, to a clueless ex-drunk. Nice call. Meanwhile, McNair has helped make the Ravens the best team in the AFC, and the Titans are one of the 3 worst.
Long story short, Vince Young will not be good.
He's not that fast compared to NFL players, like Michael Vick is. He's not elusive like Donovan McNabb because of his size. He's not going to throw off professional ends and linebackers. He's not going to outrun defensive backs. He's not going to make throws he could never make in college in the NFL.
In college his offensive line was bigger than the lines of every team they faced. In fact, the Texas O-line was bigger than most NFL lines, and about 4 of those guys will be in the NFL (2 are). Basically, they ran over people, and this will not happen for him in the NFL.
He will be a huge bust. Of Culpepper can't throw it, and he does so better than Vince, then Young is never going to be any good. He'll be a free agent as soon as his contract expires, and will play for the Titans for 3-4 years.

Imbiber
What's your favorite drink? Mine's the one that makes you forget things, like, being gay, and that you sent emails to 16 year old boys asking them if they're horny.
I wonder what the Republican leadership was drinking when they were first told of this story, and forgot they ever knew. That's some strong stuff as well.
A former Republican congressman, under FBI investigation for e-mail exchanges with teenage congressional pages, has entered an alcoholism treatment center and accepts responsibility for his actions, his attorney acknowledged Monday. He's an alcoholic. That's it.
The attorney, David Roth, would not identify the rehabilitation facility, but told the Associated Press in Florida that Rep. Mark Foley had checked in over the weekend.
"I strongly believe that I am an alcoholic and have accepted the need for immediate treatment for alcoholism and other behavioral problems," Foley said in a statement, Roth told the AP.
Foley, a Republican, abruptly quit Congress on Friday after reports surfaced that he had sent sexually charged electronic messages to boys working as congressional interns. In the statement, Foley said the "events that led to my resignation have crystalized recognition of my long-standing and significant alcoholism and emotional difficulties."

Here It Is
Colin Powell's resignation letter: The Stuff that Dreams are Made of:
Bush can't even fire the right guy.
He was pleased, Powell said, to "have been part of a team that launched the Global War Against Terror, liberated the Afghan and Iraqi people, brought the attention of the world to the problem of proliferation, reaffirmed our alliances, adjusted to the Post-Cold War World and undertook major initiatives to deal with the problem of poverty and disease in the developing world. In these and in so many other areas, your leadership was the driving force of our success."Each piece, one by one, totally has not happened, or has come undone.
Bush can't even fire the right guy.

Riiiiiight...
This is usually the type of conversation a Congressman would forget:
Realize that the Democratic Congressman who oversees the page program in the House was never made aware. That's because it's more important for Republicans to win elections than it is to actually protect children. The same way it's more important to them than it is to protect Americans, or save soldiers lives.
But, to be fair, the boy in question was the same page that used to give Bill Clinton head.
Top House Republicans knew for months about e-mail traffic between Representative Mark Foley and a former teenage page, but kept the matter secret and allowed Mr. Foley to remain head of a Congressional caucus...The party of integrity.
Among those who became aware earlier this year of the fall 2005 communications between Mr. Foley and the 16-year-old page, who worked for Representative Rodney Alexander, Republican of Louisiana, were Representative John A. Boehner, the majority leader, and Representative Thomas M. Reynolds of New York, chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee. Mr. Reynolds said in a statement Saturday that he had also personally raised the issue with Speaker J. Dennis Hastert.
“Despite the fact that I had not seen the e-mails in question, and Mr. Alexander told me that the parents didn’t want the matter pursued, I told the speaker of the conversation Mr. Alexander had with me,” Mr. Reynolds said.
In a chronology of the episode released later on Saturday, the speaker’s office said Mr. Hastert did not recall any such discussion and had no previous knowledge of the matter. “While the speaker does not explicitly recall this conversation, he has no reason to dispute Congressman Reynolds’ recollection that he reported to him on the problem and its resolution,” the statement said.
