...to all my Rutgers friends who have contacted me to talk about last night's historic victory.
First off, I desperately wanted them to win. In addition, I've said time and time again, that if Ohio State played Rutgers for game that mattered I would definitely root for the Knights. Last night confirmed that. Why is there an assumption that I don't want Rutgers to be good? Have I ever indicated such things? No. Because I went to another school first, and have loved their football team, that precludes me rooting for the school I got my degree from, in the town I grew up in? Ok.
Having said this, do I think Rutgers, right now, would beat Ohio State (or Michigan or Tennessee or Auburn or Florida or LSU or Cal or USC or Texas)? No chance. Notre Dame? Sure. They're not in a conference, sorta like Rutgers.
Can Rutgers, in their most pumped up game ever, similar to Penn State vs Ohio State last year, beat a good team at home? Sure. Was it amazing? Yes. Have they come from the depths of college football hell? Yes. Does this make them a true contender for the National Championship? I do not think so. You don't beat Louisville at home, and then worry about Cincinnati.
The argument that Rutgers badly beat Illinois in game 2 at home and that Ohio State came out flat against them in Illinois, after owning the game for 42 miinutes, makes them equals, is fucking RETARDED. Everyone is gunning for #1 every week. Rutgers, with all that's going on, is still an underdog a lot. They were getting 2 points against NAVY!
You can look at the Knights' record and who they played, and see their opponents record is 42-40. Then you can can dig deep and see who those opponents are. True, they have waxed most of them, but their conference and schedule is very weak. Weaker than any team in the Top 10 above them, excluding maybe Notre Dame, again who I don't think is that good.
But even to be HAVING THIS CONVERSATION is a ridiculous milestone for the team and the school. That's enough to hang your hat on. But to think that Rutgers is ready to take on the truly best teams in CFB in November is a bit much. Louisville, who are they outside of a team that really beat up on bad teams in the Big East? Who has West Virginia beat? Look at their schedules.
CFB is down as a whole this season. There only seems to be 1, or 2 very good teams. Then there's a drop. Being in that drop, for Rutgers, is phenomenal. But you really gotta relax.
I assume still that Rutgers will lose 2-3 games, THIS SEASON. But this is still a HUGE moment for the team.

If
If it's not one job, it's another that stops me from posting.
In vegas for the Ultimate Fighting Championship until Sunday.
HOPEFULLY I can post more upon my return.
And it sucks because I have sooooo much to say...
...the partitioning of Iraq is how far away? 8? 9? 10? Months?
Bush will fight it until the end. The inevitable. Strangely enough, the inevitable breakup could only have come about because of the disaster Bush caused. Irony.
I'll explain Sunday :)

"The People Have Spoken..."
I'm not sure how many times you're going to hear this, but I'm sure you've heard it a lot.
"The people have spoken, and they're not happy...it wasn't a vote for Democrats, but really a vote against the Republicans...," say the Republicans. This is true. You had control of the entire your government, and you sucked balls.
It's like a bad coach. The Republicans are the John Cooper of the American Government. Coach Cooper won the Big Ten title a few times, and even went to the Rose Bowl where he defeated Pat Tillman and the Arizona Cardinals. However, where it counted, the BIG GAME, the BIG MOMENT, the reason he was hired in the first place, the MICHIGAN GAME, he SUCKED BALLS. He was 2-10-1.
During his tenure Cooper sent droves of stars to the NFL. He had more talent than any team in the nation. He had the power. But even still, the guy blew it every time it mattered. So what happened? The people voted AGAINST HIM. They didn't vote for someone else. They were unified AGAINST COACH COOPER.
What did the Ohio State University do after the people had enough? They went out and found someone else. They went out and hired a no-name coach from DIII Youngstown State. His name is Jim Tressel. He had nothing to do with Cooper. He just replaced him.
With the new coach in place Ohio State has won a National Title, and is currently the best team in college football. By the end of last sesaon they were the best team as well. Having overcome their sad lost to Texas. Apropos.
Bush and the Republicans had it all. They had the talent, they had the power, they had what all coaches want: full control. But they lost because they went 2-10-1 when it mattered. So yes, the people voted AGAINST THEM.
I think it's more embarrassing to have lost because of how bad you are then to have lost to someone great. It's like being a tennis player who continually hits the ball into the net and out of bounds (or constantly double-faults like Republicans).
So I'm fine with however they want to frame it. At the end of the day, Republicans sucked balls the last 6 years...and recently we've learned they've done it literally and figuratively.

Fun, Fun
I wish I was writing about how the Republicans are going to "surprise" and maintain control of all 3 branches, but I just don't have the time.
I'm busy dealing with scumbags in the Real Estate industry to write. And here everyone thought the clients were the only ones who get screwed. Please. I have to work with some of these people every day. They're not all bad.
There's a great cyclical thing going on in this world.
Agents take out clients, push them to take a place. Clients find a place with someone else; never call agent to tell them. Agent comes into work thinking they still have the client; they do not. Agent calls and emails client, but client does nothing. Agent then gets angry and starts to do things other refer to as "obnoxious" or "unethical." Clients never think that their actions may push the agents to be these things.
Lucky for me the three clients I've lost have all called/emailed me to apologize. At least I'm doing something right.
Moral of story: It's not all on this end. The clients are equally at fault for the behavior of many agents.
