And yet, somehow it's the Republicans who keep going to prison.

This is one of those, "Nobody lied..." situations. It's more like, "You're just a bunch of fucking scumbags."

Sports Notes

I just spent the week in Miami working for AOL at the Miami Convention Center for the Superbowl, and boy was it...underwhleming. There were good times to be had, like my conversation with Marcus Allen, and my hug with Chad Johnson, but other than that it was pretty slow. I guess it was because these two teams are about as exciting as glue. And by that I mean Elmer's glue; not the kind of glue that gets you lifted.

Bottom lines are: I do not get star struck, and don't really care to meet famous people. Also, Chad Johnson is pretty cool and Tony Siragusa is pretty lame...as is Reggie Bush. Tony is just such a ridiculous, over-the-top tool it's hard to take him seriously at all. I know he's trying to not be taken seriously, but that whole act is so worn. And Bush, he's just a prima donna douche, contrasted with Vince Young who is a nice and respectful guy. Bush is bigger than life...to Bush. Just being near him makes me think he definitely did something illegal at USC.

Other note, Frank Gore is a brickhouse. I had to tell him, "Dude, I always knew you'd be sick..." :)

BUT...moving on...the whole event was sorta weak. 9/10 radio hosts are fat slobs who couldn't walk a football field...Drew Rosenhaus was representing the Burger King mascot...Leigh Steinberg was pushing his "green" party, to save the O-Zone. So amazing to see two agents, both stars, and such contrast. Drew is so brash, and Leigh just doesn't self-promote. That may have been the highlight for me...and the free shit, like the charger that chargers EVERYTHING, and the free Cold Stone and Krispy Kremes...Hannah Storm looked really fucking good. I definitely wanted to grab her ass...Bonnie Bernstein, definitely a slut. You can just sense it.

As for the game, which I could have bought tickets to, but had no interest, so lame.

Thank Devin Hester for returning that kick because had he not the game would have been over in 10 minutes. Also, thank the rain for keeping it as close as it was.

Manning should thank Marty Schottenheimer for his first Superbowl victory. Manning, imo, is no Dan Marino. Dan Marino is on either one of those teams Sunday night, and Dan Marino has a Superbowl title. I do appreciate Manning's abilities, work ethic, and at times amazing play, but Dan Marino he is not. He'll go down as a better QB by many, but I'm not buying it. Marino never had Manning's talent.

Which gets me to my final point about Superbowls making QBs. It's a lame discussion. I think Jim Kelly wins it for the Bears on Sunday night, no doubt. Grossman is an average, at best, quarterback. Superbowls do not tell me whether someone is a legend, or not. The application doesn't apply to anyone but QBs, and that makes zero sense to me. Is Barry Sanders still a legend, and considered the best of all time by so many, yet Marino is not? Why?

This can go on endlessly, so I'll let it lay. But I don't think this particular game made Manning a legend. The Colts beat an average team, in an average year, and the game was lame. I believe Manning still threw more picks in the playoffs than TDs. This to me was more about Dungy, but I guess Manning will now be enshrined...of course, because of Jesus.
