Bush Again

I'll say it again, and yet I'm still amazed by it:

Every time President Bush speaks it's as if he just learned about the topic himself, and most likely, he has.

On CNN they just showed him talking about Ethanol, and the need to rid ourselves of our oil dependency. When he speaks about it, he explains it to people as if they are either a) against what he's saying or b) have no idea about the topic in which he speaks. He speaks to adults as if they're in the 4th grade, and that's because he doesn't understand these topics beyond that level.

Things like, "It's a national security matter...if we rely on others for our oil that's a national security matter..." All the while with that stupid grin as if he's telling us something we don't know.

Amazing.

Puhhhlease

This morning I had the rare opportunity to listen to multiple radio talk shows as I drove my father into New York City (so painful). Almost every show was covering the Scooter Libby trial (except my new station), and of the shows I listened to, 3 of them commented that Libby was a "likeable" guy, and that Dick Cheney "felt for him..." This happened on WABC (obviously) and on Imus in the Morning (obviously).

Sidenote: Imus is garbage. Who listens to that shit?

Anyway, apparently the people working at the courthouse think Libby is a good guy because of the way he treated people over the last few weeks. Isn't that nice? He's such a good guy; it's a shame he had to be the fall guy. Right? It should be Cheney, right? Riiiight.

First off, fuck them all. If you choose to work with the Cheneys, Wolfowitzes, Roves, Poindexters, and others of the world, then you got exactly what you deserved. I don't buy for a second this whole 'Libby is a good guy' bit. This guy has aligned himself with the biggest scumbags possibly in US history, and was the right hand man of the biggest scumbag prick of them all. So guess what happened? You got caught. You got caught because the scumbags you work for and with, did some shady shit, and you end up being the one person who got nabbed. I don't feel bad for you at all. I just feel bad that everyone involved didn't get caught. And not just for this Plame/Wilson thing, but for every illegal thing they've done over the years, which hopefully we'll find out one day.

In no way do I feel a bit sad for this guy. I just feel sad that at the end of the day, this is probably the only thing these people will ever be charged for.

If Libby were to die in his country club prison from an infetion, or loneliness, or whatever, I wouldn't even care. Again, if Libby chose these people as his teammates, then fuck him...he can't be honest. All these people are trash, so I'm sure Libby is trash too. Regardless of what morons like Imus and others say about him now.
