Here's Your Tax Cut

Oil.

Interesting...

Can't believe I never realized this until just now, but I never thought to goto the International Herald Tribune in order to read the columnists of the New York Times. They own the paper, and run the same Op/Eds (except the NYC Local ones, I believe), which is how I can reak Krugman. Speaking of which...

Could he by any more spot on then he is with this piece on why Conservatives hate Gore? It's too funny, and too sad.

The Worst

I continue with the "Charlie Weis is the worst" line because he is THE WORST.

News out of South Bend is he lost yet another player.
Matt Carufel, who started three games at right guard for Notre Dame, has decided to withdraw from school after losing the starting job.

"I spoke with Matt Carufel Sunday evening and he informed me that he was going to leave the team and withdraw from the University of Notre Dame," coach Charlie Weis said. "I appreciate all Matt has done for Notre Dame and wish him nothing but the best."

The 6-foot-5, 295-pound sophomore from Forest Lake, Minn., had started three games after Dan Wenger was injured against Michigan, but lost the job to Eric Olsen last week. Carufel missed practice and was not at the Boston College game on Saturday.

Carufel is the fourth sophomore to leave the program since April. Quarterback Zach Frazer transferred to Connecticut after he was demoted to fourth string in the spring.

See, the reason why this is ridiculous is this is he's losing players HE RECRUITED. He's not losing guys that were there under Coach Willingham, he's losing his own guys. Sophmores. But, think about this, the only players he has won with are guys Willingham recruited! Yes, this is fact.

With all the hype around his first 2 years, those were Ty's players, including, notably, Brady Quinn, Jeff Samardzija, and Darius Walker. This guy has done nothing with his own players except alienate them, and most recently for a highly touted freshman QB who has done nothing.

I do not remember a major college football programming losing 4 players, recruited by the current coach, without a major scandal happening.

Good luck for the next 10 years!!!

Feelings

This is how REAL conservatives are supposed to feel, but of course they don't. They are much more concerned with saying one thing and doing another. Anything to achieve their primary goal of preserving self interests.

This is the way free marketers, like, say, Paul Krugman feel...

What color are most farm states?

Exactly.

Great Nascar Nation

It's incredible that this NASCAR Hepatitis thing makes its way through the media the same way Gore creating the internet does.

I received an email this morning from the GOP saying something to the effect that Democrats were scared of the Nascar people. Seriously?

I know Republicans need to lie in order to create this image, but why is this accepted by so many? I know there are reasons within the base to accept all lies as a means to a greater end, but what about those who aren't died in the wool?

You can read the link up top, and see that any search ends with basically the same result. You can rest assured this story will be told for years to come by conservatives on the radio, who will be lying every time they speak it without impunity. However, this is the real story, and the real letter. It's a letter that addresses a serious health matter, and is one that is responsible. But these are things Republicans care not for. They'd rather lie than be responsible.
