This is Great

I found this Craigslist post while doing some searching. The guy is almost surprised the "mainstream media" won't accept his "documentary!"

I am seeking a fundraising Producer for a highly political documentary focusing on next November's election. The focus is on debunking with visual evidence all of the Democratic candidates for President. This documentary will be very controversial and I expect it to create enormous buzz. The so-called mainstreamm media will probably not like it either. I need to raise approximately $50,000 soon if the project is to get off the ground.

My priority is to release this as a feature in wide distribution. Secondary would be for television distribution. It would need to be released around August 2008.

I am looking for someone who is not afraid of negative publicity and will not shrivel up under the hot lights of contoversy. I also need someone who believes in the concept as this will not be looked on well by liberals and Democrats.

Must have experience raising funds for this type of project. I am working on prominant people to connect with the project which will make fundraising much easier.

Compensation will be a percentage of the gross or net as we can discuss.
I'm sure the Democrats are doing the same thing...

You're Surprised?

This weekend I finally had a chance to read the papers, and update myself as to the goings-ons in the race for the White House. And you know, the more things change, the more they stay the same.

The New York Times, MSNBC, NBC, CNN, CBS, ABC, Chicago Sun Times, LA Times...wait, what am I doing? Okay, every major news outlet EXCEPT FOR FOX NEWS and the WALL ST JOURNAL Editorial Page is covering the Bernard Kerik/Rudy Giuliani story. FOX, of course, isn't doing that much (they're probably busy digging through Whitewater files...)

With regard to Kerik, and morally corrupt Rudy, people seem surprised to some degree that Rudy is receiving as much support as he is, and even getting the endorsement of Pat Robertson. But lets be serious here: does anyone really think Robertson cares about anything other than his own personal power? Robertson can convince himself that Rudy's moral and ethical flaws are irrelevant, as long as Pat has his ear. What Pat doesn't realize is that Rudy is as great an opportunist as anyone we've seen in ages. If Rudy were elected he'd probably head right back to the center, and Robertson's sway on him would be marginal at best. Pat would be much better served in the long run truly supporting the people he purports to represent. John McCain has first hand experience with this.

So here we have one bullshit artist befriending another, and vice versa, so neither can see the other shit the other spews. But I did say "regarding Kerik" and this is only regarding Rudy, so lets get to Kerik...

Kerik, no one who is Republican really cares what he has done wrong since to them the ends justify the means, and he isn't relevant going forward. If ignoring Kerik is what it takes to get Rudy elected, sure, they'll ignore him. If Clinton had appointed Kerik to the positions Rudy has, and if the guy was as shady (and under qualified to be everything but his chauffeur), we'd never hear the end of it. It would be the reason of the day not support Clinton, but not to these Republicans. It's good enough for them when Rudy says, "I don't remember..." Seriously?

Republicans really do have the worst memories ever. Not a one of them in the last few years can remember any of the bad things attributed to themselves, or those they know (Gonzalez, Libby, Bush, Fleischer, you name 'em). Which, again, is what their voters will say when it comes time to pull that lever. They don't remember. Apparently, Republicans love electing people who are either really dumb, or really forgetful, which, at this level, is the same thing. Oh, or really lying...yeah, that makes sense.

Don't be at all surprised that Republicans and conservatives pull for Rudy even though he has consistently made poor judgements, and tried to put friends in high places, even when under qualified and corrupt. These are the people who voted for Bush TWICE, and this, after all, was what he did best!

The One Thing...

I really care about these days is college football, and this weekend backed up my belief that the SEC is completely overrated.

Yes, Michigan lost to App. State, and that was such a joke, but did you see the great Nick Saban lose to UL Monroe? Yes, the same UL Monroe that also lost to Troy, Tulsa, N. Texas, and Middle Tennessee State. And of course, the game was at home...

This does not make Michigan's loss any better since the Blue's squad is loaded with underachievers who work about as hard as our President, but still, this is LATE in the season, when a team is supposed to be very cohesive.

Oh, and then there's the INCREDIBLE, UNBELIEVABLE, UNSTOPPABLE, INSURMOUNTABLE.......three loss Florida Gators, who competitively schedule Florida Atlantic University the week before they play Florida State, as a sort of warm up. A game where they can bench their players, get some rest for the stars, pad some stats, maybe. Last year this great 50-day rested team had a much tougher game at the same point: Western Kentucky.

Is this a joke? Would it not be ridiculous if Ohio State played Akron the weak before the Michigan game? And if they did, you think they'd give up 20 points? Also, I might add, the IUUI3L Gators gave up 31 to that same Troy team who lost to UL Monroe.

THE SEC IS INCREDIBLE.

Now I'm not saying the Big Ten is incredible at all, or that the SEC may, or may not, have a better top to bottom schedule, but that's probably only because of parody. And when some of these teams get to meet in two months on a track favorable to SEC football, that's not going to prove anything to me either.

Which gets me to my belief, again, one that I changed since the setup is apparently working against teams that run the ball and play in brutal conditions (Big Ten/12), is a playoff, especially one that awards the best teams with a home game, is necessary to provide true fairness and objectivity to a sport that is more filled with subjectivity than any other.

Also, it's going to fantastic to me to watch a 1 loss team like Mizzou, KANSAS!, or West Virginia play for a National Title over Ohio State. I say this because Illinois' QB Juice Williams is making some Heisman lists now, and are ranked 18th. OSU hadn't lost a regular season game in over two years, and finally they drop one. Juice will be a Heisman front-runner next year, but, so will Chris Wells. OSU, assuming most of the team stays, will be the #1 ranked team in the land, since they lose only 2 seniors. Yet, some other 1 loss team, playing in the Big East, or the not-so-great-this-year Big 12, with combined, fewer NFL starters on their 3 teams than OSU has on this one team, will goto the dance.

You want to see one loss WVA, Mizzou, or Kansas playing LSU in New Orleans over Ohio State?

Please.

(Yes, I'm an Ohio State fan, but that makes none of this untrue).

If only the smartest guys on Wall St knew anything about economics:

For all its success on Wall Street, it is Goldman’s global reach and political heft that inspire a mix of envy and admiration. In the race for president, Goldman Sachs executives are the top contributors to Barack Obama and Mitt Romney, and the second highest contributor to Hillary Rodham Clinton. Mr. Blankfein has held a fund-raiser for Mrs. Clinton in his apartment and has come out publicly in her favor.

I suggest reading the whole thing.
