Weak Call

I am a supporter of Hillary Clinton, yes. I hope she wins the nomination, but, I do not support her, and Bill Clinton's tactic of trying to remove polling places from casinos now that the Culinary Workers Union is supporting Barack Obama. That is flat out weak.

Coincidentally, I was speaking with someone about this a few weeks back at the Mandalay Bay. I'm privy to the underbelly of the casinos via the UFC, and myself, a security guard, and another employee were discussing politics, etc. The guy mentioned that polling places were setup at Mirage, etc. It was more a discussion about politics in general, and how the two of them liked Obama. I was telling them I disagree with their choice.

Point being, they were talking politics, and in Vegas that is not an easy thing to come by AT ALL. The topic most often discussed in Vegas is, of course, nonsense. Whatever is pointless, useless, or irrelevant, that's what you're talking about in Vegas.

"So which hotel has the most rooms?"

"I can't believe the line on that fight dropped as much as it did!"

"Mandalay does have a great buffet, but you need to try the brunch at Paris."

"The table games at Wynn are just too costly."

"Dude, you need to go to the OG. Rhino is too stiff."

Things like that.

With this said, if people have a desire to vote, and putting polling places in locations that make it easier for them to vote, then golly gee, you should have polling places in those locations! Is it that crazy? Is that not helping democracy?

Now Republicans, don't get too excited that I'd against the Clintons, or any other Democrat, since when it comes to elections, polls, etc, your record is embarrassing and disgusting. If the situation was reversed in some way, and Republicans were dealing with this for Bush in 2004, the only place to vote would have been at the Wynn, on the suite floor, where you'd need a key card to get in.

I'd Take Out a Million Dollar Loan

And bet it all that this guy wore an American Flag pin on his lapel.

Fascinating

I hope Pac Man Jones likes doing his wakka wakka on some cock because he's about a year away from doing it daily:
Jones has been arrested six times since being drafted sixth overall in 2005, including two arrests in Georgia in 2006 that the Titans did not learn about until 2007. Jones was suspended for the 2007 season by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell in April.
Oh, he punched a woman in the face at a strip club...allegedly.

Exactly. What's he doing at a strip club?

Seen 'Em

I must say the best part about this year's Golden Globes were the speeches. It should be like this EVERY YEAR.

As for the winners and losers and those overlooked, some quick thoughts.

Best Motion Picture

Atonement - Good movie. Seemingly better book, and I didn't read it. You can just tell there were gaping holes throughout, and because of it, not that great. I'm sure Eastern Promises was better, and I fell asleep after 7 minutes. All of the other films, again, not that great. A recurring theme for 2007. The writers must have foreseen their strike, and started to slack before the year even began.

Best Still Picture

Still awaiting the nominees.

Best Actor

Dan Day Lewis - He was great. Movie wasn't. If this was a silent film it'd be the worst movie of all time. I say this because the music was so good, and caused such anxiety throughout that it basically made the movie. (Spoiler) His son loses his hearing, so he isn't talking much, hence, why it could be a silent film at times.

Saw all the rest. No one was that great. Clooney not bad in Michael Clayton.

Comedy

Sweeney Todd - Didn't see it. Juno was average. Then again, any category titled "Comedy" that doesn't have Shawn of the Dead as a past winner should be renamed.

Best Foreign Language

I can't read foreign languages well enough to see them.

As for the rest, until Rescue Me or It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia start getting some props I can no longer acknowledge these awards...

Trumping Death

So there was a major collapse today at Trump Soho, and unfortunately one person is dead. Possibly more.

I can hear him now, "My collapses are the greatest in New York City. And when a Trump employee dies, he dies in an extraordinary, fantastic, unbelievable way. It's not just any death. It's spectacular!"
