Ian
Poulter
The outspoken Ian Poulter caused a stir on the eve of the Dubai Desert Classic by saying he was the only player capable of challenging the supremacy of world No. 1 Tiger Woods. It takes balls to play golf.
"The trouble is I don't rate anyone else," the 32-year-old Briton was quoted as saying in the March issue of the United Kingdom version of Golf World magazine.
"Don't get me wrong, I really respect every professional golfer, but I know I haven't played to my full potential and when that happens, it will be just me and Tiger."

Either a Black Man or a Woman
is the next President.
I know, I'm not reinventing the wheel here, but if Romney cannot convince Floridians he's better on the economy than McCain, then he's in deep shit. After all, he started Bain Capital! They are Private Equity! They MAKE MONEY FOR PEOPLE! He can't win the economy? That's not good. McCain is going to tell people, this: Listen, here's the move to help yourself in this tough times: MARRY RICH, I DID!
So it's going to be the guy who thinks we should stay in Iraq forever versus a Democrat, and the Dem will win, regardless of who it is (assuming they don't kill each other).
Believe me, Limbaugh and the rest are praying it happens because that's the Republican way.

Lets!
Lets Make Florida Rudy Country! Yes, LETS DO IT!
I'm so all about Florida being Rudy country. In fact, he should not be allowed to leave the state, ever again.
If you'd like to support the Rudy Campaign during it's waning days send all inquiries here.
"The most important thing of this presidential election is protecting the country from Islamic terrorism," he said. Giuliani's message—tax breaks, a national catastrophic fund for victims of hurricanes or terrorist attacks, a reinvigorated space program—resonated with the gathered locals, who periodically punctuated his 20-minute stump speech with cries of "Rudy!" and waved signs proclaiming "Florida is Rudy Country."

Can We Admit it Now, or Do We Have to Wait?
I think it's great how conservative radio and tv personalities are really selling the Harry S. Truman angle when they talk about President Bush. In fact, Bush has even tried to sell it himself at times. I heard it twice in the last two days, and of course, there's a great reason why.
First, doesn't history repeat itself? If you're saying "yes", well, you should be thinking more along the lines of Vietnam than Truman. If you're thinking Vietnam, think of something a lot worse...Btw, why did we go there again? Anyway...
Second, when you start looking to Truman as your example you're basically admitting that Bush is currently a failure, and that if things change DRASTICALLY in his direction, Bush will be seen as a successful President. This could not be further from the truth.
Lets just pretend in some fantasy world that we were to take on the Jihadists, and conquer them, does that make attacking Iraq right? Not on your life. In fact, it's hard to argue the point that even if we are to overcome this in some way, Bush has in all likelihood made it harder. The whole concept of fighting the terrorists "there instead of here" is really catchy (hence, why they use it), but it's ridiculous. "There" really could have been ANYWHERE there are terrorists. The right "there" would have been in a place where there's an actual threat, like Afghanistan, Iran, SAUDI ARABIA, and countless other places.
Taking this further, Bush wasn't the one who created this doctrine of fixing the Middle East in same way that Truman may have began the Cold War. We were already engaged in the Middle East, and military options were on the table. I mean, the first Bush had already raised issues with Iraq (of course, for Oil), but even so, around the region, we were there. Without question, the current Bush has set us back, even if we are to be successful. All success would mean now is that anyone involved in accomplishing it has overcome not just the Middle East, but the stupidity of the WORST administration in history.
Other than taking advantage of the nation at a time of weakness with regards to these wars, he has done NOTHING beneficial. But, to his credit, we are fighting them "there", and I guess that means something because we've now created more problems "there" than there needed to be.
So Truman works because instead of just admitting outright failure, and the fact that every Conservative/Republican who has challenged me, or anyone else, here, or anywhere, has nothing left but a chance the future may prove them correct. Unfortunately, right now, today, this second, you're a bunch of idiots, who were wrong then, now, and of course, will be in the future.
And, of course, the reason Bush needs to invoke Truman is because he too knows that his legacy can only be saved by something we cannot see. In the same way he has treated himself his entire life, everything is what could happen. I'm sure he thinks Jesus will fix everything when he's ready to do so, but again, reality is a different ball game.
At least you're all on the same page. Make sure to tell all your friends who you've argued with, and been wrong, "Hey, I'm not sorry. Just you wait!"

See, The Thing Is...
This was a highlight for me last night:
The thing is, it's not succeeding because a lot of children are being left behind. And the ones being left behind are the ones who need the most help.
After the President was finished making up this part of the speech, he then went on to discuss a voucher program he instituted in Washington DC. He then went on to discuss the need to funnel tax dollars into private (aka, religious) schools, since it's supposedly working in DC.
It makes you wonder: maybe the White House wants the bottom 20-25% to fail (I believe they do) miserably, so they can get these parents on board with their plans to privatize education. If parents see their children failing, they'll want an option, and that option is privatization. That's the trick, and I've been saying it for years.
In neighborhoods across our country, there are boys and girls with dreams, and a decent education is their only hope of achieving them. Six years ago, we came together to pass the No Child Left Behind Act, and today no one can deny its results. Last year, fourth and eighth graders achieved the highest math scores on record. Reading scores are on the rise. African-American and Hispanic students posted all- time highs. Now we must — Now we must work together to increase accountability, add flexibilities for states and districts, reduce the number of high school dropouts, provide extra help for struggling schools.Ok.
Members of Congress, the No Child Left Behind Act is a bipartisan achievement. It is succeeding. And we owe it to America’s children, their parents, and their teachers to strengthen this good law.
The thing is, it's not succeeding because a lot of children are being left behind. And the ones being left behind are the ones who need the most help.

Take a Second
Dave Matthews is allowing fans to pick which band will open for them. Please, do me the favor of choosing the band RUDDER (Keith Carlock and Tim Lefebvre), for not only are they probably more talented than any band you can think of, but they're friends as well.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Readers Minds Made Up on SOTU
Yeah, Bush is an idiot. We know!
Is anyone watching this thing? I remember when we cared about his SOTU. We were concerned about finding out when we would be attacked again, and by what.

Hello? HELLO?
I'm sorry, but is McFly the Olympic Commissioner? It's CHINA! This is what they do.
Listen, this is a nation that kills children if families have more than two, or if one isn't a boy, or a girl, or some shit. Whatever. They kill CHILDREN!
Come to think of it, why aren't the Catholics and Evangelicals boycotting the Olympics? Hmmm...
But anyway, what did you expect from CHINA!
They'll probably float their currency this week so you forget about this whole thing. Afterall, economics always trumps death. Just see the Iraq War for proof.
"ECONOMY TAKES CENTER STAGE DURING ELECTION!"
BEIJING, Jan. 28 -- Six workers have died helping to build venues for this summer's Olympic Games, including two who worked at Beijing's celebrated "bird's nest" stadium, a top work safety official said Monday.Promise? Swear it?
The announcement followed a British news report last week that alleged a coverup of worker fatalities at Olympic sites. The report accused site managers and police of ordering construction teams to remain silent about incidents in which workers plummeted to their deaths from the capital's National Stadium, an intricate steel-laced structure that resembles a bird's nest.
Chinese authorities denied that 10 workers had died, as a Jan. 20 story in the Sunday Times of London alleged, but promised an investigation.

Thoughts...
I'm told I shouldn't say "sorry" when I don't post for awhile; that's the nature of the blogger. But I am sorry, more so to myself because so many great thoughts go through my head (often when drinking), and I often forget them before posting. Therefore, we're all deprived. :)
First thing I'd like to address is Rudy Giuliani, a man I wish had perished on 9/11. I'm down in Miami, and all week I've seen his ads, which basically just say this: I WILL CUT YOUR TAXES, I PROMISE!
Yep, that's his platform. A euphemism for, I WANT TO BUY YOUR VOTE, NO JOKE.
What kind of a person can make a declaration like that without even knowing the economic situation that lies ahead? 2 types: 1) An asshole 2) A Republican. Sorry for the redundancy right there. But seriously, you can say something like, "I believe all citizens should have health care" and enact a plan to do so, regardless of the cost. But to say something like, "I will cut your taxes", that's just retarded, and of course, the retards all do it. Rudy has been doing it for over a month here in Florida, and thankfully for me, I am leaving (and for them, since he's done on Tuesday, at least, most people think so).
Tax cuts haven't worked in the trickle down way Republicans have hoped for, and by and large, never will. As I've mentioned before, and others too, the conservative belief in tax cuts isn't based on sound principles. It's their firm belief that it works, even if it doesn't. If it worked, I'm sure Democrats would support it ALL THE TIME, like Republicans do, since it's so fucking easy to support. It's really the easiest thing to support, hence why it's their bread and butter. Saying, "I am going to tax the shit out of you" isn't really a vote getter these days. But doing what is correct, based on sound analysis, is how I want my politicians to vote. Not the Rudy way, aka, the conservative way.
Can't wait to hear his next plan because he's not going away; his ego won't allow it.
Now we move on to the Battle to Make People Think Their Vote or Beliefs About Iraq Will Actually Work and Will Bring Peace Election...and the economy, stupid.
Well, forget the economy for now because every 4 years politicians plan on reinventing it, and really doing none of the things they say they're going to do to actually help it, i.e., Bush, and his tax cuts and his war(s). The economy ebbs and flows, so discussing bringing "jobs back to Michigan" like Mitt Romney did is absurd, and not just because he said it. Jobs back to Michigan. Good one.
But speaking of Jobs, and Iraq, isn't it time a politician running for office started talking about the two of them in conjunction? Isn't THAT how you're going to fix Iraq?
"We NEED TO CREATE JOBS IN IRAQ!" Yes, say it! SAAAAAY IT! Because it's the only god damned thing that could POSSIBLY fix Iraq, and yet you've never heard a single person utter it. Now you will, since I've brought it to the table. One of you ass clowns is going to use it as your own (and by ass clown I mean you anonymous douche posters).
No nation can survive or strive without jobs; giving its citizens a reason to wake up (today that reason is to kill the oppressors). It's basically the reason the entire Middle East is royally fucked, except the people with the oil cash, who give just enough to deflect attention away from themselves. But even if Iraq were to figure itself on some minor level, and it won't (because of the leaders of this country), it still wouldn't be any different from the rest of the Middle East, and Western Asian nations that hate us. Still, why is no one talking about creating jobs in IRAQ?!? Cause that's the only way to change anything.
Imagine America, where NO ONE who is poor had a job. Do you not think they'd be killing people? In fact, what if all those without jobs were Evangelical Christians, do you not think they would be killing people? Think about it. They'd be the first to pull the trigger...in the name of Jesus, of course.
Anyway, go back to your bullshit candidates, and their tax cuts. It'll serve you well during the next war, when you need to build a bomb shelter. Btw, I should be getting back into that business fast, considering the fear mongering these politicians engage in.

Whoa!
In this Bizarro world we live in, I just found out I'm a Nazi!
Truth is, they're all a bunch of douchebags.
Just a note on Fox's "reporting" while I'm "deciding." The use of the "L-Word" is apparently a bad thing, but as long as I can remember, the "C-Word" has always been much much worse.
With less than 24 hours until primary polls open in Florida, top GOP rivals John McCain and Mitt Romney continued a barrage of attacks on each other, freely using the “L”-word to bash one another. That same Ted Kennedy who voted alongside Joe Lieberman about a billion times, whose endorsement McCain happily accepted.
Romney hammered hard on a climate-change bill that McCain has supported with his friend and colleague, Democratic Sen. Joe Lieberman, saying the legislation will result in a tax increase. He also went after McCain for the Arizona senator’s role in campaign finance bill and the failed immigration reform bills.
“If you ask people, ‘Look at the three things Senator McCain has done as a senator,’ if you want that kind of a liberal Democratic course as president, then you can vote for him,” Romney told campaign workers. “But those three pieces of legislation, those aren’t conservative, those aren’t Republican, those are not the kind of leadership that we need as we go forward.”
He added, “The truth is, Mitt Romney was a liberal governor of Massachusetts who raised taxes, imposed with Ted Kennedy a big government mandate health care plan that is now a quarter of a billion dollars in the red, and managed his state’s economy incompetently, leaving Massachusetts with less job growth than 46 other states.”
Truth is, they're all a bunch of douchebags.
