I Wish

I wish I could have been sitting in the room, or car, or wherever, when one of McCain's handlers told him he should goto a German restaurant in Ohio while Obama spoke to 200,000 people in Germany.

"We need to counter this...find us a German restaurant..."

I mean, really?

If McCain went to Germany to speak there's a good chance he'd have about as many fans waiting to hear him as he did in the German restaurant, so I guess there's little difference.

It says a lot when a candidate, especially a black man, can goto Germany in this day and age and command this type of audience. It tells us the world is looking for the US to lead everyone down the right path, and off the current path. McCain represents the current path, especially regarding the issue which is most important to the world: Iraq.

I know conservatives get confused between not caring about what the world thinks of us, but justifying at every turn us spending billions of dollars to remake part of the world none of them really care about anyway. Must be tough.

Well, here it is, a place we helped make a free and democratic nation, seemingly supporting a candidate for President.

I don't know, but it seems kind of obvious to me which way the world wants us to turn.
