I've received a few emails about this Obama stuff, and I just want to say, I'm not even really a fan of Barack Obama!
I wanted Hillary. John Edwards fucked that up. But, BUT, Barack is clearly better than this whimpering old wind bag John McCain, that's for sure.
A better world is what I want, and I am 100% positive Obama will get us towards that. Plus, I think he would do a great deal for the many who thing becoming President was an impossible thing.
Finally, I also don't want the media wasting my fucking time delving into this book like they did the Swift Boat shit. That was a distraction of nonsense which ultimately gave us this ass clown for another 4 years.
That's why I'm against the book.
Freedom of speech, yeah, fine, whatever, it's bullshit. If you want freedom of speech go stand in Bush's "free speech ZONES" that existed when he ran for reelection.
FREE SPEECH ZONES!

Amehricuns
It's been proven, not that it needed to be, but it's been proven that the Swift Boat Veterans who were against John Kerry were liars, and that the book written about Kerry was filled with lies and accusations.
Yet, there's a new book, with the same author, trying to hurt Barack Obama, and yet the book is a NYTIMES Best Seller. In fact, it's number 1!
What does that say about the people who purchase it? What does it say about this country? Do you think if such a book had been written about McCain, it'd be a best-seller? Not on your life.
Oh, there are books about Bush, but they're true! They're vetted, they're accurate, and at best, the distortions about Bush are covered up.
But seriously, what does this say about so many conservatives in general that you'd support a lying author, in an attempt to smear a man, solely to give themselves ammunition in a verbal war with Democrats, knowing full well they're regurgitating les?
This reason alone, all politics aside, paints a clear picture of who stands on what side of the line.
Obama is going to become President, and one of these customers is going to shoot him.
Isn't that nice?

Drudge...
You may not like him, and you may not respect him, but you have to admit, the guy is definitely a huge douche.
I heard a little blip on the radio today about campaign fundraising, so I thought to myself, "politics obama mccain, maybe i can find the info at the drudge report." So I looked.
It was NOT THERE!
Shocking!
Yet not shocking at all coming from someone who fancies himself as fair, but really just a closet homo who hates himself.
But lets talk about what was/is there.
He does his little Russia/Georiga thing, and then has a photo of a missile launching into space to tell the tale of "Missile Defense" in Poland. It's like he has to touch base on the Russia/Georgia thing so he can pretend to himself that he cares, and then his audience can do the same. But they love their missile defense, we know that. Perfect little segue from one story Republicans don't really care about to another that's, like most of their ideas, sure to be a failure and a huge waste of money.
But we move on.
I've yet to even touch on why I went to the DRUDGE REPORT in the first place.
Top Story, left hand column reads, McCain raises $27 Million in July!!! and that McCain has $96 Million on Hand! Then there's a Hillary blurb, of course, since she really was the butter on Drudge's first piece of bread. Gold Declines. Obama Did Something. Oil is $112 (like that's good, still). And on and on and on...
Where's my story?!?!? Isn't this a news site? One that loves the military, hates Obama, and likes discussing fundraising? Yes, it is that site, which is why I came here.
Which is why I'm so surprised he failed to link THIS FUCKING STORY!!!!
Oh Drudge, to think I even gave you a little bit of credit to post a story like this one...
Shame on me.

WASHINGTON (AP) - John McCain may be the one with the lauded military record, but according to a nonpartisan group, Barack Obama is the one raking in more cash from military donors. All I have to say is "shame on you", those donating money, and wasting time paying attention to who your next boss will be! And for those of you who did donate to McCain, take it back. He's pissed. He wants you defending. He wants you to be like him, getting caught.
A Center for Responsive Politics report says Obama has gotten more donations of at least $200 from members of the military than McCain. Donations coming from troops serving abroad are even more lopsided in Obama's favor -- he's outraised McCain 6-1 there.
McCain's campaign says he's been "endorsed by more retired admirals and generals than Barack Obama has military donors."
They also expect to win the military vote in November, arguing troops overseas "are too busy" defending the country to donate money.
Oh Drudge, to think I even gave you a little bit of credit to post a story like this one...

Hey Mikey, Why ya Such a Douche, it's Fridee?
The news of Chris "Mad Dog" Russo leaving WFAN is bad news, if it's even news.
Russo and Mike Francesca have been the leading sports talk duet in sports talk radio history, maybe talk radio history. It's upsetting to know he won't be on the air there anymore.
Not that I love Russo because I do not, but Francesca is such a blowhard douchebag asshole, it's unimaginable to think they could ever find someone suitable to be his partner. I am sure there are many willing solely because of the fame that would come with it, but finding someone able is another story, and Russo was more than that.
In fact, while Francesca fashions himself as an expert on matters wide and far, Russo rarely comes across as a know-it-all in the same way. Russo knows how to admit when he's wrong, and has been more than willing to give listeners and callers a fair shake. Francesca, not the case. He's always right, even when clearly wrong. And why shouldn't he be pompous? After all, he is a very successful, uhhh, uhh, hmmm...what is the basis for his pompousness? Hmmm...Oh, he's a very successful eater. Yes, that's it. He eats a lot, it would seem. Therefore, because he is a totally out of shape, unathletic, seemingly not that bright, armchair quarterback, he should definitely be a pompous know-it-all even though he's consistently wrong about everything.
In April I called the show for the first time in years (previously to tell Mike the Ravens were going to mop up the Giants, and was told, by Mike, how wrong I was...I recorded it) to speak about Memphis and Kansas. Mike went to cut me off after I told him I already won my bracket...that bothered him immensely. Why let me get to my point when you can harp on a tangential point, a Francesca trade mark? So I shot out my commentary quick, "Well, whatever, Memphis is going to lose the same way to Kansas as they did to Tennessee by missing free throws..." I hung up. Mike told me I was wrong...
Hmmm...
Shocking.
When Russo first started in New York he made an appearance at the Reform Temple of East Brunswick one Sunday morning to talk to the Men's Club. He admitted not being a "sports expert", but rather a huge baseball fan who was very "lucky" to be where he's at today. He showed humility, honesty, and above all, a niceness. These are qualities Francesca may have read about. You'd think having sat next to a guy of this ilk for years he'd pick up on some of these things. Not the case. I guess it was having the two opposites next to each other which is what made them successful? I have no idea. Maybe.
But off the air (and often on it), Francesca has shown himself to be nothing but an insecure idiot, more often wrong than right, and always, at all costs, trying to prove how smart and in control he is. Russo was just Russo. Sometimes right, sometimes wrong, and clearly the bigger personality, and better person.
Cheers to him for making the tough call to leave WFAN. At some point you have enough money, and success, that being treated with respect is more important than other factors.
I hope WFAN falls on its face with the loss of Chris because it will be a beautiful thing for Francesca to realize that the most important part of that show was not his opinions. I also hope on the way out the door Mad Dog stole one of Francesca Twinkies, or some shit. That'd really kill him.

I think it's pretty sick what Michael Phelps is doing in the Olympics, but I also think it's pretty ridiculous that seemingly every swimming World Record is being shattered.
Is he the best ever? Maybe!
He's not swimming in the same pools (yes, makes a huge difference), and he (and others) are wearing this new body suit (takes over 30 minutes to strap on) which is seemingly helping all of them.
Clearly the best swimmer in these Olympics and of recent times, but just because he's breaking all the world records doesn't mean he would have years ago. It's all relative, but I'm sure for the Olympics, and the ratings, and the Wheaties, and the rest (and America, man, cause we love a motherfucken winner), this is AWESOME!
Cheers to Phelps for being the best. Boo to the Olympics for allowing changes that have enabled records to be shattered.
When the dude in 4th place is ALSO breaking the world record, that should tell you something...

One Has to Wonder!!!
Nazi Republicans are awesome:
WHAT ELSE?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Corsi makes an issue of the fact that, before he quit smoking cigarettes, Obama didn't want it widely known that he smoked. "If Obama takes pains to hide his smoking from us, what else does he take pains to hide?" Corsi asks in the book.I don't know!!!

Part of the Plan
While you might think this is a bad thing, you're not really paying attention. You just don't get it!
Here's how it works.
You take home less money every day for countless reasons, but spend more on things like food, heating oil, gasoline, clothing, everything. You just spend more.
Then what happens is these businesses who are making more money from you, they then turn around and INVEST IT, and EXPAND their businesses! Then what happens is you go out, apply for a new job at one of these EXPANDED businesses, and you then make MORE money than you were making at your last job.
You see how this works? It's a system. It's called Reaganomics.
It's trickle down.
You feel the trickle?
Yeah, you do.
That's the Republicans pissing on you.
Consumer prices shot up in July at twice the expected rate, pushed higher by surging energy and food costs. The latest surge left inflation running at the fastest pace in 17 years. It's all just a small cog in what they like to call Reaganomics. That's right, this is part of the plan.
The Labor Department reported Thursday that consumer prices rose by 0.8 percent last month, twice the 0.4 percent gain that economists had been expecting.
It marked the third straight month of oversized inflation increases following jumps of 0.6 percent in May and 1.1 percent in June. And it leaves inflation rising by 5.6 percent over the past year, the biggest 12-month gain since January 1991.
Here's how it works.

Uh Huh
Tax trickery!
If getting rid of the IRS results in a clear business tax code that will actually help the nation pay for its problems, I could be persuaded.
Believe you me, the richest people and obviously many companies, are far from paying their fair share.

If I Recall
And I do, Georgia sent the second most troops to help us in Iraq, behind the British. Of course President Mikheil Saakashvili probably assumed, incorrectly, that with the support of people like John McCain (a staunch supporter), and President Bush (a huge idiot), he could act out in South Ossetia, and receive the full support from the United States of America.
"Bzzzz. Wrong."
"The Putin Family now has control of the board!"
Lets discuss the good, the bad, and the stupid.
The good is, and this may seem strange, Russia is asserting itself. While I'm sure many pro-Reagan Absurdists think the falling of "that wall" was the greatest thing to happen to America since the Rubik's Cube, it did create an unfilled vacuum throughout the hemisphere. This vacuum led to the growing power of militant Islam, as there was really no check in that half of the world.
Yes, the fall of the Soviet Union loosened things up and has created instability. Similar to the fall of Sadaam Hussein in Iraq has led to instability. That's how it works.
So on some level might it be good if Russia is somewhat hegemonic? I won't go that far, but having a power check on the United States isn't the worst thing, unless, of course, it's China. That could be a problem. Maybe a check on them?
Maybe I should step back from the word "good..." Who knows?
The "bad", those things are obvious. BUT, you could make the case, and I sure as hell will, that had we not gone into Iraq the problems in Russia/Georgia would not be happening.
Georgia got their balls up because of their support for the war, and Saakashvili's belief that conservatives in America would help him. He figured this because of his support of us in Iraq. "Bzzzz. Wrong."
We cannot support you, and will not really support you because a) we don't have the balls to truly take on the Russians b) it's not in our best interests to do so c) we really care only about our self-interest, and not freedom and all that bullshit and d) we cannot fight another war, anywhere, right now.
The "conflict" in Iraq has enabled others to get their balls up, period. Another beautiful mistake.
Oh, by the way, Russia controls a lot of oil. Big problem for us, again.
Finally, the idiot. Again, Saakashvili, for all the reasons mentioned. He just attacked and lost land. Nice work.

Agism?
There's an article in the WaPo about "Obama's age problem", which is really quite hilarious when you think about it.
Dear Old White Dumb People,
That website you're trying to figure out, or website you may be browsing, or article you might be reading, or car you might still be driving, unfortunately, and that meal sandwich you just got from the deli, and that easy-to-put-together furniture you're resting on, while watching that new flat screen your son-in-law bought for you, are all things that were built, created, repaired, fixed, and made by someone younger than John McCain, and more likely than Barack Obama.
And if you decide to take a course at the local college annex in order to get a part-time job somewhere, your teacher will probably be a lot younger than you too.
See, it's a younger world, and we need a person who deals with modern problems. Not a guy who should either be retiring or dying.
Cheers,
Weinish
With polls showing Obama dominating among those under 40 and running even among middle-aged voters, Republican John McCain's lead among those 65 and older is the main reason he remains close overall. His margin is largest among older white voters without a college education, accounting for much of Obama's problem with the white working class.Shocker.

Get it While It's Hot!
Make your moves in the waning days:
I'm not crazy environmentalist because I believe nothing can be done. We're just too selfish, and too engulfed to turn back the tide on this. When half the country, at the very least, is willing to vote for people who don't care, or believe, in environmental damage it's beyond electing people who will try to make a difference.
What are we going to do, preserve the planet for an extra 50, 60, or 100 years? I have no idea. I care, but I have no idea. But I do know that if it's a serious problem we're certainly not going to fix it. I'm equally sure that if it's a problem Republicans will find a way to help certain people make money while exploiting it.
Yeah, the ice is melting, and yes, the polar bear way of life is threatened because of it. That's not really an opinion thing. I guess from their point of view, it's just one more thing to hunt!
WASHINGTON - Parts of the Endangered Species Act may soon be extinct. The Bush administration wants federal agencies to decide for themselves whether highways, dams, mines and other construction projects might harm endangered animals and plants.Because the Administration is already doing SO MUCH, you don't want to start over regulating the environment!
New regulations, which don't require the approval of Congress, would reduce the mandatory, independent reviews government scientists have been performing for 35 years, according to a draft first obtained by The Associated Press.
Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne said late Monday the changes were needed to ensure that the Endangered Species Act would not be used as a "back door" to regulate the gases blamed for global warming.
In May, the polar bear became the first species declared as threatened because of climate change. Warming temperatures are expected to melt the sea ice the bear depends on for survival. And this isn't true?

Celebrity
I think the whole 'Obama is a celebrity' thing is quite hilarious since the hero of the Republican party was a Hollywood actor.
And a moron.
Oh, and that they wanted Fred Thompson to win for the same reason. Yeah, and that.

Updates
Two weeks ago my oldest friend and his wife were blessed with twins. It's a very exciting time for them, and everyone else who knows them. Since then I've received a few emails from the wife containing information and photos, which I'm more than happy to look into because I haven't had the time to see the kids at any length.
The photos make me happy because this is my best friend, having children.
What I do not care about AT ALL is receiving photo updates of babies from people I'm marginally friendly with. These are people I care about, but if you live 2 blocks from me, and I have seen you maybe once in 2 years, chances are I'm not THAT interested in seeing photos of your kids every week! The first time, the hospital pictures, the family stuff, sure, I'll take a peak at that. But enough is enough.
Send the photos to people who actually care about you and your family, and that's it. You do not need to blast your entire address book because seriously, we don't care.
That's what FACEBOOK is for, no? Right?
Other people do not care but are glad you are happy.
