Tired or Tirade?

I do not think I have ever defended Dana White for something he has said, and I am almost as sure I have said many things as bad as he is, often in a manner that has no relevance to the actual words themselves.

For example, if I say "man, that guy is such a fucking dick!", I don't really mean that he's a 6 foot penis. If I say "that woman really is a cunt bitch.", I don't mean that she's a four legged animal shaped like a vagina.

Now if I say "that ass fucking homo faggot" then I probably am saying something to the effect that the person I am speaking about is someone I do not like, and I am pointing out that I believe one of the characteristics that makes him weak is his being gay. In this case, being gay, would be in my opinion, at the time I said that, a fault. Even if I didn't really believe that, making this statement, would mean I probably had homophobic tendencies, and believe, on some level, that being gay is a flaw. IF I said THAT.

However, if I was to say, "dude, you are such a fucking faggot, it's ubelievable..." I don't think you could jump to the conclusion that I'm a homophobic person, or that I think being gay is a weakness, a sin, or anything perceived as negative. "Faggot" is probably the first cuss word I ever used and got away with. Without even really considering the meaning, I used it as a kid. More likely than not I said "fag", but whatever, it has always been a harmless adjective, allowed on the radio, tv, print, and anywhere else.

"Fag" derives from the word flag, and like a flag it points out something hanging loosely, like a flag, or, I guess, the hand of someone who is gay, I guess. Whatever the case, certainly not terrible. In fact, having spent enough time around those who are gay, I've heard it used MANY times. No different than the way certain blacks, or now, other minorities use "nigger", or "niggah", I should say.

Is the subject, Loretta Hunt, gay? I mean, had Dana called her a nigger, would the NAACP be on his ass, or would the comment just make no sense at all? He'd probably be in more trouble because nigger is clearly a more derogatory word than fag, for sure. Again, I was allowed to call someone a "fag", or in my case, on the soccer field, it probably went like this, "fuck you you fucken faggot..." Yeah, I was 12. And no, I didn't think the kid was gay.

POINT BEING, the word faggot is merely an adjective to describe someone in no particular way, unlike kike, nigger, spic, wop, etc. It's just added to sentences in the heat of battle, meaning nothing in particular except to show someone's displeasure toward something.

If the GLAAD is so offended by the word "fag", then they should make sure their supporters don't ever use it. In fact, they should move to outlaw it all together. A cigarette in England is called a "fag." If a cigarette in England was called a "nigger" or a "kike", believe you me, groups would be motioning to get it changed, outlawed, or banned. Fag, however, is viewed much more simply, and hardly a big deal.

The uproar over this entire thing is ridiculous, and for any member of any rights group arguing otherwise, you are being overly sensitive. You have managed to draw more attention to the word itself, and have made it more derogatory just by making waves over this.

I'm tired of this type of shit, and think it's ridiculous. This is one of the bigger issue/non-issues I've seen a while.

And to ESPN, it seems you only post Mixed Martial Arts stories when something bad happens. Yes, I know you thrive on bad news, everyone does, but it's RARE you post anything positive, like someone doing something interesting. But as soon as someone does something bad, front page news. To that I say, you can suck my balls, which depending on who has chosen to read this is either an insult, or something that gets you excited.

BeLOW Me.

Know It All...most

I just heard Boomer Esiason say on the radio something to the effect, since Cutler is now with the Bears "the Jets are left to pickup the pieces..."

This was followed up by Craig Carton's, "this team cannot go into the season with an unproven quarterback..."

First off, the Cutler thing was never happening for the Jets, and was an anomaly that rarely ever takes place. The fact he was even available at all makes no sense, so it's not as if 5-6 weeks ago this was a consideration. The Jets were still going into the season with Kellen Clemens, Brett Ratliff, Erik Ainge, or maybe a veteran pickup like Jeff Garcia or Byron Leftwich.

Second, the Jets aren't left trying to "pickup the pieces", as if the franchise was banking on this, or figured they had a real shot. The Broncos were much more likely to trade Cutler to a team outside their conference for less than a team they could face in the playoffs like the Jets. If lucky the Broncos will play the Bears twice in 2010. Picture in your head the last time you even saw the Bears and Broncos on the same field. There were no pieces to pickup because nothing was broken, other than the Jets QB situation before Cutler became available at all.

As for Clemens, everyone needs to relax. The guy will start for the first time as the official starter this season. He has game. Is he a superstar? We have no idea. But I do remember him bringing the Jets back from the dead in Baltimore against a very good Ravens team, and had it not been for Justin Mcaerins inability to catch a ball, the Jets win. Maybe if that happens, things change, and there is no Brett Favre? I don't know, just saying, in his first season playing he certainly wasn't bad. Matt Cassel didn't start off a star last year, next thing you know the Broncos are trying to deal Jay Cutler for him.

After the Ravens game Clemens was benched, and then came back to play a very difficult schedule down the stretch, if I recall correctly. Again, not predicting stardom, but I am predicting he'll be better than the great BRETT FAVRE.

The Jets will be fine. I predict Clemens plays well at first, even with the worst receiving corps in the league. Put Brandon Marshall and Eddie Royal on the field, and then see how he does.

Btw, I don't even like the Jets. I just hate overreactions and stupidity more.

Your Kid

I have a friend, he has a wife, they have a child.

I have never seen this child in person.

We are "friendly."

I did not attend their wedding. I have not been to their apartment. I do not know either of their phone numbers. We have never been out to dinner. We once had drinks 3 years ago, pre-child.

Every month, on the 1st or 2nd day of that month, without fail, his wife feels the need to send me all of the photos taken of this child from the previous month.

Not to be a dick, but seriously, for the most part, no one gives a shit, other than those who are supposed to give a shit. But at this point it's even questionable whether they care to see all these photos.

Now I delete this email, and have since the month after the baby born, so I do not know what this child is capable of. Maybe I'm missing out. For all I know this 1 1/2 year old can do one handed hand stands, and standing back flips. I just feel like if that was the case it would have gotten back to me by now. I also suspect nothing amazing is happening because the photo they use in the email is one of child being held against mom's breast.

Anyway, again, no one gives a shit. I have enough kids I do care about, and I don't even want to see those pictures EVERY MONTH!

Get over YOURSELF!

P.S. You know who you are. This is my passive aggressive way of letting you know everyone feels this way.

Putting Aside the Hilarity of it....

I particularly like the last few sentences of this here story:

Sen. John McCain wants a presidential pardon for Jack Johnson, who became the nation's first black heavyweight boxing champion 100 years before Barack Obama became its first black president.

McCain feels Johnson was wronged by a 1913 conviction of violating the Mann Act by having a consensual relationship with a white woman -- a conviction widely seen as racially motivated...

Documentary Filmmaker Ken Burns helped form the Committee to Pardon Jack Johnson, which filed a petition with the Justice Department in 2004 that was never acted on. Burns said he spoke about the petition a couple of times with Bush, who as governor of Johnson's home state of Texas proclaimed Johnson's birthday as "Jack Johnson Day" for five straight years.

Bush gave Burns a phone number which led to adviser Karl Rove, Burns said, but Rove told him a pardon "ain't gonna fly."

Rove doesn't recall any such conversation with Burns, his spokeswoman Sheena Tahilramani said, and "if he had been approached, he wouldn't have offered an opinion."

That'd be filmmaker Ken Burns. I mean, come on Ken, everyone knows blacks can't fly.
