Other Than

Roy Halladay, if I was picking a player to win me one baseball game it would be Carlos Zambrano. Epitomizes what baseball should be.

Biased Cubs fan.

Not Quite Even

I read a few of the Sotomayor/Obama/Gingrich/Kyl articles last week, and there was one theme that popped up a few times which I had expected to hear a lot closer to the election. It's the "now that a minority is __________ it's proof that we've reached a level of near equality."

Nothing could be further from the truth.

Unfortunately for those making this claim, and there have been many, Equality is not a game of "Capture the Flag." So even though Obama may have the flag in his hands, does not mean all minorities have now won too. The same goes for Supreme Court Justices, especially in Sotomayor's case. In fact, I'd suggest that the selection of Clarence Thomas to the bench was actually an ironic loss for black people.

If all of this was a game of "Capture the Flag" then white people won it years ago, many times over.
